The Truth About Terpenes
If you’ve been using essential oils and CBD, chances are you’ve heard the word “terpenes,” before. And if you haven’t, well you’re in luck. While I wouldn’t consider myself an expert on the subject, I do think it’s valuable information to have. So I’ll do what I can to explain what terpenes are and why they’re so beneficial.
What Are Terpenes
Simply put, terpenes are naturally occurring compounds that have specific smells, flavors, and effects. They’re mostly found in plants but there are some insects that can make their own (though I wouldn’t recommend smelling or tasting them).
You probably didn’t know this, but you actually encounter terpenes every day! Whether it’s the orange you peel for a snack or the flowers you smell as you walk by, it’s the terpenes that are responsible. Terpenes are what typically give a plant it’s distinct smell or taste.
What Are Terpenes Good For?
The first two qualities are more obvious – taste and smell. But terpenes can do so much more. For example, Nature’s Ultra CBD oils utilize the terpenes from the essential oils that are included. Cool Mint provides and uplifting aroma from peppermint, Citrus has an energizing aroma, and the cinnamon bark in Cinnamon gives off a bold aroma.
That’s not all. Nature’s Ultra CBD is formulated in such a way to enhance the effects of both the essential oil and the CBD. For example, lavender essential oil and CBD are both used independently for their amazing calming effects. But add them together and you have a powerhouse product.
Essential Oils and Terpenes
You may already know this, but terpenes can be found in essential oils. They’re usually what makes the oils smell and taste the way they do. While essential oils and terpenes aren’t the same thing, it’s the terpenes that are the building blocks of essential oils and can help with different aspects of your wellbeing.
Essential Oils and CBD
Part of the process to provide pure CBD with 0.0% THC means creating a CBD isolate. This also means that the terpenes from the hemp plant can be lost. It’s for this reason I originally partnered with Young Living so that I can add terpenes back in by using their high quality essential oils.
Now you can enjoy quality CBD and quality essential oils with the added qualities of the terpenes that come with the essential oils.
I hope I was able to provide a better understanding of terpenes and how they work in Nature’s Ultra CBD oils. I’m always looking to provide you the best and educate where I can.

Cannabinoids and the ECS
The term CBD has become more and more popular over the years, but a word you may not be familiar with is cannabinoid. While knowing about CBD is a great start, I believe it’s important to know what it is and how it actually interacts with the body. I’m going to do my best to explain what cannabinoids are and how they may interact with your body’s Endo Cannabinoid System (ECS).
